On the past, it was said that the
munster was the second

cathedral of Alsace.

This renowed cheese was originally
made by Benedictine monks from

the Munster valley, and then by
the "marcaires".

Pierre and René FRECH have followed up the family firm founded
in 1949 in Huttenheim, a small village in the south of Strasbourg.
They perpetuate the tradition by refining cheeses according to
labelled area and made with milk from this very area in question.
